Sosos's mosaic represented descriptive, hyper-realistic table scraps on the floor of a dining room in a Hellenistic palace at Pergamon. This lecture explores how Sosos used rhetorical techniques to play a game with his viewers, thereby inserting himself into the mosaic's context―the competitive festivities of King Eumenes II's Greek symposia in the 2nd century B.C.E.
