Etruscan art stands out for its sophisticated mastery of terracotta and metal, its vividly expressive style, and its memorable content, all of which bring to life a remarkable Mediterranean culture that thrived for over a millennium in ancient Italy. This lecture highlights works that are quintessentially Etruscan in form and content, with a special focus on engraved bronze mirrors.
This is part of the ongoing lecture series for the upcoming Ancient Art exhibition, The Etruscans: From the Heart of Ancient Italy, to open in May 2026 at the Legion of Honor.
